I've left substack
a quick note on why + where you can find me now
Yes, I’ve made the choice to leave substack. If you’d like to know more about why, you can find the full essay here.
For those of you who have been following my work here for a while, I also want you to know that something else has shifted. For a long time I kept my writing separated — leadership and moral injury on one side, spirituality, nature, poetry, and long form personal essays on the other. I told myself the separation made sense. That people who came for one might not want the other.
But the work has always been connected. The questions have always been connected. What does it mean to lead without losing our humanity? What does it mean to honor our values in a world that rewards compromising them? What does it mean to repair the torn places in ourselves, our communities, and our institutions and live in right relationship with one another? These questions don’t belong in separate spaces.
So going forward, everything lives in a new home at journal.rootsintheclouds.com — the leadership writing, the grief work, the nature essays, the poetry, the moral injury framework, all of it. One space. Whole.
